Legal Senior Manager / Manager

The responsibility of a Legal Senior Manager / Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing legal matters related to the Tumil holdings Limited and it's operations. This role plays a critical role in safeguarding the organization’s legal interests and ensuring that all business activities are conducted within the boundaries of the law.

Job Description

Ensuring the organization complies with all relevant laws and regulations including product labeling, advertising, and consumer protection laws. Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating various contracts, such as supplier agreements, distribution agreements, leasing agreements, procuring agreements and employment agreements. Identifying and mitigating legal risks that may impact the oraganization’s operations, such as intellectual property issues product liability, and regulatory compliance. Keeping abreast of changes in regulations and assisting in obtaining necessary permits and approvals. Protecting and managing the organization’s intellectual property, including trademarks patents and copyrights. Handling or overseeing any legal disputes, lawsuits or claims that may arise, and working with external counsel when necessary.

Ensuring the organization’s corporate governance practices are in compliance with relevant laws and regulations. Developing and implementing legal policies and procedures to guide the company’s action="#"s and decisions. Providing legal training and guidance to employees and other departments to ensure legal awareness and compliance. Managing the legal department’s budget and external legal expenses. Preparing reports and updates for BoD / related committee and participating in strategic decision- making. Conducting internal audits to assess legal compliance and recommending improvements as needed.

Qualifications

  • A Law degree from a recognized university or law school (master’s degree (in laws) holder is preferable)
  • At least 5-10 years of experience practicing law, with a focus on corporate and commercial law.
  • Experience in the Telecom industry or  other related industry.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations, such as Contract & Tort Law, consumer protection laws, Sale of goods Law, Competition Law, Agency Law, advertising regulations, and data privacy laws.
  • Experience in managing and leading a Corporate legal team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Experience working with senior executives and providing legal advice to management teams.
  • Representing the company in legal proceedings and has the right to practice law in the Republic of the union of Myanmar jurisdiction. (Advocateship license in hand)
  • Experience in manages the resources and budget for the legal activity.

Required skill

  • A deep understanding of relevant laws and regulations including contract law, intellectual property, consumer protection, and regulatory compliance.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English for drafting legal documents, negotiating contracts, and effectively communicating with internal and external stakeholders.
